AISLING ANNACOTTY CAPTURE UNDER 13 PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE
Aisling Annacotty 3 : Mungret Regional 1
2nd May 2011

Aisling Annacotty Under 13 A Team captured the Under 13 Premier League title last Monday night in Annacotty. Played in wet conditions in fading light this was a tough and well fought encounter. Aisling Annacotty required at least a point to lift the League title. The homeside did most of the pressing in the first half but couldn’t get passed a well marshaled Mungret rearguard who kept them at bay. Mungret Regional took the lead near the end of the first half when a mix up in Aisling defence left the Mungret forward Cian McSweeney with the ball well outside the box. He then produced a stunning strike from 30 yards leaving the Aisling keeper no chance as it thundered into the roof of the net. The remainder of the half was a well contested midfield battle and Mungret held the advantage at half time.
The second half found an even more determined homeside after the half time team talk from Aisling management. They soon leveled up matters when some good attacking play found Aislings captain
Peader Collins in the box and he fired a shot past the Mungret keeper. Aisling soon added to the scoreline when a great ball from Peader Collins split the Mungret defence and Evan o Connor running onto the ball finished well in the corner of the net to give them the lead. Aisling kept up the pressure after this and were further rewarded for there efforts when Oisin Kelly pounced on a loose ball in the Mungret box and thundered the ball into the Mungret net. The away side had a few set piece chances after this but there efforts were saved by Niall Sheehan in goals for the homeside or were narrowly wide of the target.
Both teams emptied there bench then and the referee blew soon afterwards to great celebrations by the Aisling Annacotty team who were presented with the League trophy after the match by Schoolboy League secretary Gerry McCormack.

With the midfield well on top the a away side created some openings in front of goals and took the lead with a Cian Hession right footed effort. This was followed by good interplay between Oisin Kelly and Evan O Connor up forward, with Oisin Kelly blasting the ball home from close range. Oisin Kelly then set up Evan O Connor for the third. Under 13 National Cup - Last 64
Aisling Annacotty 3 : Blarney United 3
(Blarney won 5 - 4 on penalties.)
15th January 2011
Aisling Annacotty bowed out of the Under 13 National Cup at the last 64 stage last Saturday afternnon when they were unlucky to lose on penalties to a determined Blarney United side from Cork. Played in Kilonan in testing wind and rain both teams gave there best in a very entertaining affair.
Aisling with the wind on there backs in the first half did most of the pressing and were rewarded from a corner kick taken by Niall O Shea, he floated in a beautiful ball which was met by Sean McBrearty who rose above the Blarney defence and headed the ball to the top corner of the net.
The second came when Evan O Connor took on the Blarney left back and pulled in a ball into the area where Cian Hession met first time and drilled the ball past the helpless Blarney goalkeeper. Blarney came more into the game after this and pressed more up the pitch. After one of these attacking plays
by Blarney the ball broke down in midfield and Evan O Connor was put through in the Blarney box but was up ended and a penalty awarded to the home team.
Unfortunately Aisling were unlucky on the penalty and the score stayed at 2 - 0 to the home side at the break.
The second half was a totally different game with Blarney having the most of the possession and doing most of the pressing, aided by a strong breeze and rain.
They pulled one back when a free kick from half way was caught by the breeze and decieved Niall Sheehan in the Aisling goals when the ball came back off him and the Blarney striker was
first to the ball and passed the ball into the net. Blarney got great confidence from this and kept pressing and were rewarded when a mix up the Aisling defence left the Blarney attacker one on one with thr Aisling keeper who had no chance when the ball was driven into the corner of the net. Both teams made substitutions after this and the full time whistle blew with the scoreline at 2 - 2, and extra time was on the cards. Blarney took the lead in the first half of extra time when a good flowing movement by them led to there third goal. But showing great determination and pride the Aisling team never gave up and were rewarded when a corner from Conor Fleming landed in the six yard box of Blarney and Peader Collins reacted quickest to find the back of the net. Aisling had a few free kicks after this but could not find the goal to win the match so the game went to penalties and this is a cruel way for anyone to loose a game
and unfortunately it was the home side who came out of it on the wrong side this time. But great credit to both sides for a great and entertaining game of football.

Aisling threw everything at the away side after this but despite having the majority of possession couldnt break down a stubborn St.Brendans defence and balls not falling right for the homeside. It was looking like it wasnt going to be Aislings day until a well placed pass from Conor Fleming found Cian Hession at the left handside of the area where he contolled the ball and blasted a great left footed shot into the corner of the net giving the away keeper no chance. Under 13 Premier League
Aisling Annacotty A 3 - Caherdavin Celtic A 1
30th August 2010
Played last Monday evening in Annacotty in beautiful sunshine, these two teams who won the domestic trophies on offer last year in there age group
served up an entertaining match for there supporters. Aisling had the better of the early exchanges and some lovely inter play between forwards Oisin Kelly and
Evan O Connor, lead to the opening goal for the home side, when a flowing move from midfield ended with Oisin Kelly sloting a perfectly weighted pass for Evan O Connor who calmly shot
to the net, giving the Caherdavin keeper no chance. Caherdavin bounced back when an Aisling attack broke down and a long ball from Caherdavin fell to the Caherdavin striker, who outsprinted the Aisling defence and
blasted the ball past Niall Sheehan in the Aisling goal. Niall O Shea of Aisling Annacotty had a number of shooting chances from free kicks and from general play, but was unlucky not to find the target with his efforts. Both teams produced some very good football after that and the half ended on a scoreline of 1 – 1, which was a fair reflection of the first half.
The second half flowed similarily to the first half with Aisling having the majority of the ball but Caherdavin digging in and counter attacking and both teams having chances themselves.
Aisling and Caherdavin made a number of substitutions and the Aisling substitutions seemed to spur them on and produced the second goal when Evan O Connor set up Oisin Kelly who drove to the net, to give the homeside a valuable lead.
