AISLING ANNACOTTY CAPTURE UNDER 13 PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE
Aisling Annacotty 3 : Mungret Regional 1
2nd May 2011
Aisling Annacotty Under 13 A Team captured the Under 13 Premier League title last Monday night in Annacotty. Played in wet conditions in fading light this was a tough and well fought encounter. Aisling Annacotty required at least a point to lift the League title. The homeside did most of the pressing in the first half but couldn’t get passed a well marshaled Mungret rearguard who kept them at bay. Mungret Regional took the lead near the end of the first half when a mix up in Aisling defence left the Mungret forward Cian McSweeney with the ball well outside the box. He then produced a stunning strike from 30 yards leaving the Aisling keeper no chance as it thundered into the roof of the net. The remainder of the half was a well contested midfield battle and Mungret held the advantage at half time.
The second half found an even more determined homeside after the half time team talk from Aisling management. They soon leveled up matters when some good attacking play found Aislings captain
Peader Collins in the box and he fired a shot past the Mungret keeper. Aisling soon added to the scoreline when a great ball from Peader Collins split the Mungret defence and Evan o Connor running onto the ball finished well in the corner of the net to give them the lead. Aisling kept up the pressure after this and were further rewarded for there efforts when Oisin Kelly pounced on a loose ball in the Mungret box and thundered the ball into the Mungret net. The away side had a few set piece chances after this but there efforts were saved by Niall Sheehan in goals for the homeside or were narrowly wide of the target.
Both teams emptied there bench then and the referee blew soon afterwards to great celebrations by the Aisling Annacotty team who were presented with the League trophy after the match by Schoolboy League secretary Gerry McCormack.

AISLING COME OUT TOPS IN TOP OF TABLE CLASH
Regional United 0 : Aisling Annacotty 4
2nd May 2011
Aisling Annacotty came out on top in this top of the table Under 13 Premier League match played last Friday night in the Dooradoyle Road.
Played in glorious sunshine both teams gave a great showing of determination and effort. The teams were even during the first half with both sides determined
not to give away too much possession and chances were few and far between, leaving the score at half time at nil - nil.
The second half the away team started on the front foot and scored early when Oisin Kelly was put through and won the race between the Regional keeper Nathan Clancy and slotted the ball in the net. Aisling added to there scoreline soon afterwards when the ever energetic Sean McBrearty ran down the left wing and crossed where Paul Sutton was on hand to volley superbly into the Regional goal. The home team were stung into action and had a number of free kicks from dangerous areas which went on target
but couldnt beat Aisling Ball Stopper Niall Sheehan who had a superb game in goals. Aisling added to the scoreline when Evan O Connor went passed the Regional defence and shot at the Regional goals only for Nathan Clancy to save but the ever aware Oisin Kelly was following up to side foot the ball into the net. Regional never gave up and despite the best efforts of Evan Cusack who had a very good game for the homeside, they couldnt break down the Aisling defence. The away team were then awarded a penalty when Peader Collins was upended in the Regional box and Centre Half Niall O Shea stepped up and shot cooly into the corner of the net, to make the score 4 - 0 to the away team. Aisling Annacotty 4 : Shannon Town 1
20th April 2011
Aisling Annacotty kept a good run of form going with this deserved victory over Shannon on a glorious sunny evening in Annacotty. The recent dry weather meant quite a difficult bobbly pitch but both sides adapted well and the home team scored some fantastic goals including a candidate for most amazing goal of this or any season. The opener was created by Kieran Long who slipped a ball into the path of Paddy Morrissey on the right wing and his excellent cross was brilliantly volleyed home by Andy La Touche-Cosgrove. Kieran Long scored the second himself, creating space on the edge of the box and firing a left-foot shot to the bottom corner. Shannon were also creating chances and Brian Monaghan was one of their best players, bringing a magnificient save from Edward Doyle after skipping clear in the box. The second half saw no let-up in the action and Aisling Annacotty went 3-nil ahead with one of the most amazing goals ever. Edward Doyle is famous for his booming kick-outs and when he caught one just right the hard pitch contributed to it bouncing over his opposite number and into the net without a touch from any outfield player. To their great credit Shannon kept battling and pulled one back through Brian Monaghan after dominating possession for a period. There was still time for another quality goal when Brian Donovan burst clear on the left and layed a ball back to Jack Cleary on the edge of the box who curled a beauty into the top corner. Best for Aisling were Brian Donovan, Kieran Long and Thomas Holmes.
Aisling Annacotty: Edward Doyle, Lorcan Lyons, Tom Morrissey, John Nicholas, Thomas Holmes, Kieran Long, Paddy Morrissey, Jack Cleary, Brian Donovan, Cian O'Brien, Andy La Touche-Cosgrove,

Mungret Regional 2 : Aisling Annacotty 2
20th April 2011
Aisling Annacotty needed a win going into this game to keep their title hopes alive, but after an entertaining game a draw was a far result and leaves Mungret Regional requiring just one point from their remaining two games to win the title.
Mungret Regional started the brighter and after five minutes Sam Warde was put clear on the right and his low shot just went the wrong side of the upright. Gradually Aisling got back into the game and midway through the first half a long clearance from Sean Fitzpatrick in the Aisling goal was not dealt with by the Mungret defence and the ball fell to Niall Loughran who calmly slid the ball past the advancing goalie.
Aisling doubled their lead soon after when a through ball from Alan Nicholas found Joseph Lavin in space on the left. Still having work to do, he easily beat his marker before being upended in the penalty area by the Mungret goalkeeper. Darren Coughlan scored the resultant penalty to leave Aisling two clear at the break.
From the restart Aisling had another penalty claim turned down when Niall Lougran was taken down in the penalty area. Mungret slowly began to dominate midfield and were rewarded after five minutes when a cross from the left was turned into his own goal by an Aisling defender. This seemed to spark Mungret to life and they continued to press forward in search of an equaliser. It duly arrived soon after when a shot from the edge of the box from Daragh Curran gave the Aisling goalie little chance.
For the last ten minutes both teams pressed forward in search of the winner and play went from end to end. With five minutes remaining Mungret were awarded a penalty but Sean Fitzpatrick denied Clyde O’Connell with a terrific save. Aisling to their credit however never gave up and had two great chances in the closing minutes to take all three points.
However the game finished all square to leave Mungret five points clear at the top with two games remaining.

Under 14 Division 2 League
Aisling Annacotty 4
Shannon Town 1
Aisling Annacotty B had a great win on Saturday the 12th of March against Shannon Town at Killonan. Both Teams gave their all from the start, and this was a very entertaining game in spite of the heavy pitch. Aisling were captained by Darragh Kavanagh, who along with Callum Mc Brearty in midfield had a great game. It was Darragh Kavanagh who scored the first goal after 10 minutes, after good work by Conor Allen and Michael Fox for Aisling on the right Wing. Aisling’s Defence was very solid with Scott Brophy and Ciaran Martin in the centre, Ciaran O Meara at left Full, and Michael Fox at right Full. Aisling goalkeeper was Jack O Brien who was very quick to collect any Shannon longball over the top . However, Shannon were also strong at the back, and the Aisling centre forwards of Gavin Ayers and Kevin Tsang were denied by a goalkeeper who was excellent. The result was a number of Aisling attacks that either ended in narrow wides, or top class saves from the Shannon goalkeeper. Just before half-time Shannon stunned Aisling with a well taken equaliser.
At half-time Aisling made four changes, and brought on Matt O Connor, Cathal Masterson, Lance Mc Grath and Eoin Fahy. Aisling continued to struggle to convert their possession, until a great cross from Tom Ryan on the left wing was finished by Cathal Masterson with a neat touch. Aisling then went on to introduce Barry Hurley on the right wing. Ryan continued his good work on the left wing, and provided another cross which resulted in a goal for Matt O Connor. Aisling were awarded a penalty a few minutes later, when Callum Mc Brearty was taken down in the box. Callum took the penalty, and was disappointed to see his effort glance the crossbar and go wide. Callum made amends a few minutes later with a well taken goal. Aisling came close to adding a fifth when Christopher Carey went close after good work from Kevin Ryan and Sean Gleeson. Final word must go to the Shannon Goalkeeper who must have shared man of the match with Aisling’s captain Darragh Kavanagh.

Shannon Hibs 2 : Aisling Annacotty 10
29th January, 2011
Played in Ballycasey on Saturday morning Aisling had an easier than expected win over a good Shannon Hibs side. Highlight of the game was the man of the match performance by Niall Loughran who contributed four goals and three assists in this emphatic victory.
Despite what the score line says Shannon Hibs had their chances and indeed took the lead after 10 minutes when the Aisling defence failed to clear a free kick from the edge of the area and the Shannon Hibs forward made no mistake from close range. Aisling were back on level terms shortly afterwards when Mark O’Dwyer followed up his penalty kick to score the rebound after the Shannon goalkeeper had made a great save.
Soon afterwards Aisling took a deserved lead when Niall Loughran ran onto an Eoghan Carew through ball and calmly finished. Aisling soon added a third when Dara Neville scored arguably the goal of the game with a pile driver from the edge of the box which found the top corner of the net. Mark O’Dwyer got his second of the game with a great strike from a free kick from outside the penalty area. Alan Nicholas got on the score sheet with a well taken goal just before half time to leave the score 5 – 1 to Aisling at half time.

15th January 2011
Aisling booked their place in Round 4 of the Menton Seery Cup after a comprehensive win over a spirited Newcastlewest Rovers team played in difficult conditions in Killonan last Saturday. Aisling started brightly and had the better chances in the early exchanges, with efforts from Conall McAteer and Eoin O'Shea drawing some fine saves from the visitor's keeper. Aisling's dominance eventually paid dividends when a McAteer shot was parried by the keeper and neatly tucked away by Sam Burns for the games opening goal. The visitors started to come more into the game and resolute defending by the impressive Cathal Carew and Sean Feeney held them at bay. From a superb throughball by David Moloney the oncoming Conor Lyons neatly slipped the ball past the advancing keeper for Aisling's second. As conditions deteriorated further, Aisling's third arrived from some impressive running and neat footwork down the right wing by Shane Donegan and cross was headed home by Conall McAteer shortly before half time. Cian Mulcahy at right back played his usual solid game and Dara Cullimore at centre back were impressive throughout ensuring that chances were kept to a minimum.
Aisling started the second half with the introductions of Ciaran Barry and Alex O'Donoghue for the tiring Cathal Carew and Sam Burns after their herculean first half efforts. With some crisp passing and interchanges , Aisling added a fourth when a defence splitting pass by Alex O'Donoghue allowed Eoin O'Shea to get his just rewards for some tireless running with a near post finish. Not to be undone, the visitors kept up the pressure on the hosts defence and last gasp tackling from David Moloney and Cian Mulcahy ensured that Aisling's goal was not threatened. The Aisling keeper James Regan Magnier made a fine interception on a onrushing Newcastlewest forward to clear the immediate danger and commanded his area throughout. A neat interchange from Shane Donegan and Ciaran Barry found Eoin O'Shea in space and he made no mistake with only the keeper to beat to score his second of the day. With minutes remaining, the introduction of Conor Nicholas for the tiring Conall McAteer nearly had an immediate impact as he just dragged an effort wide of the post. Under 13 National Cup - Last 64
Aisling Annacotty 3 : Blarney United 3
(Blarney won 5 - 4 on penalties.)
15th January 2011
Aisling Annacotty bowed out of the Under 13 National Cup at the last 64 stage last Saturday afternnon when they were unlucky to lose on penalties to a determined Blarney United side from Cork. Played in Kilonan in testing wind and rain both teams gave there best in a very entertaining affair.
Aisling with the wind on there backs in the first half did most of the pressing and were rewarded from a corner kick taken by Niall O Shea, he floated in a beautiful ball which was met by Sean McBrearty who rose above the Blarney defence and headed the ball to the top corner of the net.
The second came when Evan O Connor took on the Blarney left back and pulled in a ball into the area where Cian Hession met first time and drilled the ball past the helpless Blarney goalkeeper. Blarney came more into the game after this and pressed more up the pitch. After one of these attacking plays
by Blarney the ball broke down in midfield and Evan O Connor was put through in the Blarney box but was up ended and a penalty awarded to the home team.
Unfortunately Aisling were unlucky on the penalty and the score stayed at 2 - 0 to the home side at the break.
The second half was a totally different game with Blarney having the most of the possession and doing most of the pressing, aided by a strong breeze and rain.
They pulled one back when a free kick from half way was caught by the breeze and decieved Niall Sheehan in the Aisling goals when the ball came back off him and the Blarney striker was
first to the ball and passed the ball into the net. Blarney got great confidence from this and kept pressing and were rewarded when a mix up the Aisling defence left the Blarney attacker one on one with thr Aisling keeper who had no chance when the ball was driven into the corner of the net. Both teams made substitutions after this and the full time whistle blew with the scoreline at 2 - 2, and extra time was on the cards. Blarney took the lead in the first half of extra time when a good flowing movement by them led to there third goal. But showing great determination and pride the Aisling team never gave up and were rewarded when a corner from Conor Fleming landed in the six yard box of Blarney and Peader Collins reacted quickest to find the back of the net. Aisling had a few free kicks after this but could not find the goal to win the match so the game went to penalties and this is a cruel way for anyone to loose a game
and unfortunately it was the home side who came out of it on the wrong side this time. But great credit to both sides for a great and entertaining game of football.
Aisling Annacotty AFC: Niall Sheehan, Colm Carroll, Cian Hession, Niall O Shea, Jack Barry, Peader Collins, Conor Fleming, Sean McBrearty, Evan O Connor, Oisin Kelly, Shane Hogan,

Aisling Annacotty 3 : St. Brendans Park (Tralee) 1
11th December 2010
Aisling Annacotty came out on top of this exciting and fiercely contested National Cup match last Saturday. The first half was very even with both teams having good spells of possession but both defences on top. Aislingcreated a few chances in the first half but the final ball and good St.Brendans defending kept the homeside at bay. Peader Collins and Conor Fleming had there work cut out in midfield for the home team to keep the two St.Brendans midfielders at bay
and they battled hard all through the game. St.Brendans created a few chances of there own but couldnt get past the Aisling shot stopper Jack O Brien. The sides turned at half time at 0 - 0.
The second half started with the same intensity with good flowing movements. St.Brendans Park took the lead 10 minutes into the second half. St.Brendans won the ball in midfield and a long ball over the top of the Aisling defence was pounced upon by the St.Brendans Striker who beat the Aisling goalkeeper to the ball and slotted the ball into the net. Aisling threw everything at the away side after this but despite having the majority of possession couldnt break down a stubborn St.Brendans defence and balls not falling right for the homeside. It was looking like it wasnt going to be Aislings day until a well placed pass from Conor Fleming found Cian Hession at the left handside of the area where he contolled the ball and blasted a great left footed shot into the corner of the net giving the away keeper no chance. Aisling had the bit between there teeth after this and pushed on for the winner, and the second goal came soon after from a free kick earned by Shane Hogan who was taken down on the right handside of the area. Up stepped Niall O Shea and he placed a left footed shot superbly into the top corner of the net. St.Brendans heads dropped after this and in the last couple of minutes of the match Evan O Connor pounced on a loose ball in the St.Brendans box and slotted the ball into the back of the net to make it three. The match ended soon after this and the home team celebrated a great comeback which shows the character of the
team.

UNDER 12 NORTON CUP
Mungret Regional 2 - Aisling Annacotty 2 (Aisling won 4:3 on penalties)
30th October 2010
Aisling Annacotty advanced to the third round of the SFAI Norton Cup following a hard fought victory over Mungret Regional in Mungret on Saturday.
Played in glorious sunshine but on poor playing conditions both teams served up a highly entertaining game. It was Mungret who settled the quicker and dominated large portions of the first half. Sam Warde on the right flank was a constant thorn in the Aisling defence and after 20 minutes Mungret took a deserved lead when a speculative shot from the edge of the penalty area found the net. Mungret continued to press forward and but from some solid defensive work from Shane Carmody, Daniel Enright and David Power, would have doubled their lead. Fortunately for Aisling however they failed to capitalise on their possession and the score remained one – nil to Mungret at half time.
Mungret continued to press forward from the restart but found Sean Fitzpatrick hard to beat in the Aisling goal. The Aisling keeper made one top class save midway through the half from a Clyde O’Connell shot from inside the penalty area. Shortly afterwards Mungret doubled their lead when a Clyde O’Connell corner was headed home from close range by Darragh Curran. The second goal seemed to spur Aisling to life with Darren Coughlan and man of the match Darran Golden O’Mahoney beginning to dominate the midfield exchanges. With ten minutes remaining Aisling managed to pull one back when Mark O’Dwyer’s left footed shot found the top corner of the net following a Dara Neville free kick.
Aisling now pushed forward in search of an equaliser and were at this stage taking the game to Mungret, who were beginning to tire. With minutes left on the clock Shane Mullins outpaced the Mungret defence, before rounding the keeper and calmly side footing the ball to the back of the net. Soon after, the referee’s whistle sounded to take the game to extra time. With both teams now visibly tiring few chances were created and the game ultimately headed for a penalty shoot out.
Both teams proved accurate from the penalty spot but Sean Fitzpatrick in the Aisling goal made one great save to give Aisling the slender win and set up another all Limerick clash in the third round, this time away to County Limerick side Croom United.
Best for Aisling on the day were Shane Carmody, Daniel Enright and captain Darran Golden O’Mahoney who led by example and covered every blade of grass on the pitch, while for Mungret Sam Warde, Darragh Curran and Clyde O’Connell contributed to a hugely entertaining game

Under 13 Premier League
Mungret Regional 1 : Aisling Annacotty AFC 4
23rd October 2010
Played in Castlemungret last Saturday morning in beautiful sunshine, this was an entertaining and free flowing game.
Aisling with the aid of a slight breeze started the brightest and some good work between Paul Sutton and Evan O Connor set Oisin Kelly through on goal and he blasted home from seven yards out to give the away side the lead. Aisling got there tails up after this and some good link up play between Cian Hession and Conor Fleming set up the energetic Peader Collins who shot from the edge of the box and past the stranded Mungret goalkeeper to give Aisling a two goal lead. Mungret came more into the game and pushed forward but were frustrated by great defending by Jack Barry and Niall O Shea. The first half ended on a two goal lead for the away team.
Mungret came quick out of the blocks at the start of the second half and started to get more balls up to there forward line. Aisling stood up to the pressure and broke at pace with the excellent Sean McBrearty causing trouble for Mungret every time the away team broke. A mix up in the Aisling defence lead to the Mungret goal when a long ball from Mungret wasnt cleared and broke to the Mungret forward who tapped the ball into the empty net. This spurred Aisling back to life and a fine movement on the left by Sean McBrearty and Oisin Kelly put Evan O Connor through and he made no mistake to side foot the ball into the corner of the Mungret net. Both teams made plenty of substitutions after this. Aisling scored there fourth when a free kick from Conor Fleming was not dealt with by the Mungret goalkeeper and managed to find the back of the net. Both sides had chances after that but knowone added to the scoreline and Aisling Annacotty ran out deserved winners on a scoreline of Mungret Regional 1 - Aisling Annacotty 4.

Aisling and Corbally serve up a Thriller
Under 16 Division 1
Aisling Annacotty 4 Corbally United 3
16th October 2010
Corbally United and Aisling Annacotty served up a thriller in this Division 1 U16 tie at Athlunkard, in which the outcome was in doubt to the very end. Aisling got the perfect start when, not for the last time, Conor Hackett’s pace down the right caught the Corbally defence by surprise, resulting in a penalty, which was coolly dispatched by William Brigg.
After twenty minutes of even exchanges, Aisling struck again when Brian Kelliher’s well-flighted free kick was cleverly flicked on by Thomas O’ Brien and headed to the net by Conor McCarthy. Aisling were gaining in confidence, with Jack Hayes looking dangerous on the overlap down the right, and Cian Malone driving them on through the middle. However, a fine individual goal for Corbally just before half-time put a different complexion on things.
Sensing a comeback Corbally applied pressure after the break, and were rewarded when an unfortunate own goal made things all square. The tempo noticeably increased from this point on as both teams fought hard for the initiative. Aidan Fahey in goal for Aisling pulled off a string of fine saves, while Killian Brennan’s crunching tackles plugged the middle and speedy full backs Geordi Stunden and Mark Dillon made sure Corbally only rarely got through on the wings. Aisling came close themselves on a few occasions from free kicks and a jinking run from Cian McCartney.
The deadlock was broken ten minutes from time when Brian Kelliher, sensing the sun at his back, cleverly chipped a free kick over the wall and the Corbally keeper unluckily lost it in the glare. Thinking they were home and hosed, Aisling lost concentration and Corbally punished them with a fine effort from the right wing. The excitement was at fever pitch now with both sidelines urging on their players. Kuol Ajong was a thorn in Corbally’s side on the left, and Ryan Harris threw the Corbally centre backs off their stride with his combative style. Just when it looked like it would be honours even, a cross-field ball bounced in front of Conor Hackett, twenty yards out on the right, and he struck a venomous volley which nestled in the far corner. It was a goal worthy of winning this fine, sporting contest, though Corbally nearly snatched a point, when a late breakaway shot, trickled inches past the Aisling post. As the final whistle blew Aisling could finally celebrate, but both sides can draw great confidence from this display, and are likely to make life difficult for the sides above them in the coming months.

LOUGHRAN BRACE SEALS VICTORY FOR AISLING
UNDER 12 PREMIER LEAGUE
COONAGH UNITED 1 - AISLING ANNACOTTY 2
16th October 2010
Played in ideal conditions on Saturday morning in Coonagh this match proved to be a rather one sided affair, although the scoreline might suggest otherwise, with Aisling Annacotty totally out playing their opposition but failing to take their chances on a number of occasions.
Aisling started the stronger and after only ten minutes of play could have been two goals to the good with Darragh O’Leary and Alan Nicholas going close with efforts from inside the box. Aisling continued to apply the pressure and but for a couple of good saves from the Coonagh goal keeper, the match could have been over by half time.
Although dominating possession, Aisling failed to take their chances and were punished when a Coonagh corner was scrambled to the net with the last play of the first half.
Aisling came out a more determined side in the second half and after five minutes were back on level terms when an Eoghan Carew cross from the right was calmly finished by Niall Loughran from inside the six yard box. With man of the match Darran Golden O’Mahoney dominating midfield it was only a matter of time before they took the lead. Again it was Niall Loughran who ran onto a David Power through ball before side footing it past the advancing Coonagh goal keeper. This was Lougran’s second goal of the game and his sixth league goal in four matches.
Aisling continued to dominate with Darren Coughlan and Joseph Lavin causing the defence all sorts of problems. Aisling were nearly made to pay for their missed chances when an Evan Cusack free kick from the edge of the box was well saved by Sean Fitzpatrick in the Aisling goal. This win keeps Aisling in second place in the league two points behind leaders Mungret, who they play in the second round of the National Cup in a fortnight’s time.
Aisling Annacotty: Sean Fitzpatrick, Shane Carmody, Dara Neville, Mark O’Dwyer, David Power, Eoghan Carew, Darran Golden O’Mahoney, Daniel Hession, Niall Loughran, Alan Nicholas, Daragh O’Leary, Darren Coughlan, Daniel Enright, Rory Cusack, Peter Cusack, Joseph Lavin.

U14 Premier League
Aisling Annacotty 3 Mungret Regional 0
16th October 2010
Aisling Annacotty ran out impressive 3-nil winners over table-topping Mungret in this under 14 premier league game played in beaufiful sunshine at Killonan last saturday. The home side started the game in really positive style and were three up within 15 minutes. First the excellent Kieran Long combined with Brian Donovan down the right. Brian tricked his way into the box and cut back a beautiful ball for Cian O'Brien to smash into the top corner. The goal gave Aisling a real lift and moments later they were two up. Jack cleary and Paddy Morrissey worked tirelessly all day in the centre of midfield and it was Morrissey who slid a little ball through the centre for Andy La Touche-Cosgrave to chase. Andy showed great strength to hold off the challenge and then a blistering turn of foot to skip clear and slide the ball to the bottom corner. Mungret were reeling and, incredibly, conceded a third moments later. Paddy Morrissey's industry won a free kick for Aisling just inside the Mungret half. Thomas Holmes floated a wonderful ball to the back post where Cian O'Brien flicked it home off the inside of his right foot. It was a sublime piece of skill from a payer at the top of his game. Mungret are not top of the table for nothing and they responded really well for the remainder of the half. Jack Harrington was outstanding in midfield ably assisted by Dylan Frawley and Ronan Coughlan and they enjoyed good periods of possession but lacked a real cutting edge. That was due in no small part to a very solid and committed home back four of Thomas Holmes, Lorcan Lyons, Shane Doyle and Kieran Long. Thomas Holmes, in particular, was a joy to watch, reading the game beautifully and tidying up any time that Edward doyle's goal was threatened. Edward Doyle gave an exhibition of goalkeeping throughout, dominant in the air, brave and alert in his box and intelligent with his distribution. Mungret threw everything forward in the second half in an effort to get something from the game but the closest they came saw a magnificient save from Edward Doyle at Gary O'Sullivan's feet and Tom Morrissey heading the follow up off the line. Mungret were taking chances with the number of players pushing on and Aisling had glorious chances to add to their lead. First Andy La Touche-Cosgrave was denied by a point blank save from the visiting keeper, then the same player ran on to another great ball from Jack Cleary, took it round the keeper but managed to slide it wide when an open goal beckoned. In fairness to the striker it looked like the pitch may have played a part with an unlucky bobble. Daniel Brazil came on for Aisling and looked bright & lively on the left wing as the home side held on comfortably for a deserved win. There were outstanding contributions from Edward Doyle, Thomas Holmes, Jack Cleary, Paddy Morrissey and Cian O'Brien for Aisling.
Aisling Annacotty: Edward Doyle, Kieran Long, Shane Doyle, Lorcan Lyons, Thomas Holmes, Paddy Morrissey, Brian Donovan, Jack Cleary, Andy La Touche-Cosgrave, Cian O'Brien, Tom Morrissey, Daniel Brazil.

U11 Menton Seery National Cup
Aisling Annacotty 5 : Killorglin 1
9th October 2010
Played in ideal conditions,Aisling's opening competitive match in this years National Cup ended in a comprehensive victory for the hosts over a spirited Killorglin side. The home side started brightly and with Conor Hayes dazzling runs on the flanks, stretching the Killorglin defence, it wasnt long before Aisling registered their first score. From a great run and cross by the wing wizard , Conor Nicholas pounced with a great turn and shot to the back of the net. With determined tackling in centre midfield and accurate passing from Conor Lyons and Shane Donegan keeping the hosts on the front foot and a second goal followed shortly before half time, when a Cathal Carew cross was neatly converted by the tireless Sam Burns. Killroglin battled gamely and a fine save from their goalkeeper denied Sam Burns, what would have been a superb team goal. Ciaran Barry battled bravely on the left flank and linked up well with his forward line ensuring that the away team were kept entrenched in there own half. David Maloney and Dara Cullimore at centre backs, marshalled the Aisling Defence superbly and kept Killorglin's chances to a minimum. The ever reliable Cian Mulcahy worked tirlessly on the right flank and linked up well with his teammates
Halftime introductions of Daniel Minihan, Eoin O'Shea and Conall Mcateer refreshed a team that was tiring after its first half exertions. The second half started with Killorglin coming more into the game and keeping the Aisling goalkeeper James Regan Magnier on his toes and drawing one fine save in particular. Cathal Carew threaded a fine ball through for Sean Feeney who unleashed a strong shot which came off the post and was nealty dispatched to the net By Ciaran Barry. A fine run from midfield by Eoin O'Shea, who was causing Killorglin all kinds of difficulty with his pace and dribbling mazy runs, ended with him coming narrowly close to getting his name on the scoresheet. The longer the second half went on the more Aisling displayed some neat passing movements and their patience eventually paid dividends when a Niall O'Brien pass was converted by Sean Feney to leave the score four nil. The provider then turned goalscorer as Niall O'Brien struck from a ball won bravely by Conall McAteer in the dying minutes for Aislings fifth. Shane Donegan and Conor Lyons worked tirelessly throughout in midfield and aided by fine tackling from Dara Cullimore David Maloney & Alex O'Donoghue, made life difficult for the away team. Not to be undone, Killorglins efforts were not in vain, as in the dying seconds John O'Donoghue from the away team pounced after some Aisling uncertainty to rewards their efforts. For his tireless running, fine tackling ,accurate set ball delivery and link play, Cathal Carew was Aislings man of the match on the day. Next for Aisling in the National cup is Avenue Utd B at home in early November.

U13 Division 2
Gerldines 1 : Aisling Annacotty 2
9th October 2010
Aisling came from behind to take the points in an evenly matched encounter in Garryowen Green on Saturday.
Geraldines had the best of the opening half. Eoghan Whittle at centre half with some last ditch tackles and Andrew Chan in goals dealing confidently with through balls from the Geraldines midfield did most to limit the Geradlines scoring to one well taken goal from the left winger half way through the half. As half time approached Aisling got in to the game and some good passing movements resulted in a couple of unconverted chances.
Asiling began the second half strongly. Donal McNamee and Jason Daly were dominating midfield and sent through a number of perfectly weighted balls for Shane Mullins and Frankie Flynn to run on to. Even when the Geraldines defence dealt with the initial danger, Shane and Frankie’s hard work ensured the clearance was under severe pressure. The domination paid dividends about 5 minutes into the half when Shane Mullins got on the end of a great pass form Donal McNamee and shot to the net under the onrushing keeper. Ten minutes latter a great ball through from Jason Daly was again finished by Shane Mullins for his sixth goal of the season (in four matches). The last ten minutes of the match was end to end stuff. Geradlines had a number of chances but the Aishling defence coped well. Shane Mullins had a couple of chances to get his hatrick – the first ended with a brave save from the Geradlines keeper. The second came from an excellent cross from Cian Enright on the right wing which was volleyed just over by Shane.
Aisling Annacotty: Andrew Chan, Alan Costelloe, David Madden, Sean Corcoran, Eoghan Whittle, Ben Belazi, Conor Hanrahan, Ian Coates, Donal McNamee, Jason Daly, Shane Mullins, Cian Enright, Frankie Flynn.

Ballynanty Rovers 2 : Aisling Annacotty 1
2nd October 2010
Aisling Annacotty lost out by the odd goal in three in this entertaining clash at Shelbourne Park. The visitors started brightly and had two glorious chances in the first few minutes. First, a corner from Cian O'Brien was headed just over the crossbar by Paddy Morrissey and then Thomas Holmes was denied from point blank range by a fine save from the home keeper. Balla settled and began to knock the ball around as is their normal fashion with Ryan Earls and Liam Brock impressing. Edward Doyle in the Aisling goal was making full use of the strong wind with his kick-outs landing deep in the Balla half and causing plenty of problems for the home defence. Five minutes before the break, Edward played another superb long ball which Andy La Touche-Cosgrave ran on to, beat the full back and calmly slid the ball to the bottom corner. Ballynanty really upped their performance in the scond half and began to get a firm grip on the game. Two outstanding saves from Edward Doyle kept Aisling's lead intact but the home side were growing in confidence and looking ever more likely to break through. The equaliser duly came when hesitancy in the Aisling defence failed to clear the ball from a corner and Keith O'Connell volleyed home. It was game on and both sides gave everything they had in the search for a winner. Balla stole it late on when good work from Neil Wallace down the right set up Ryan Earls to blast the ball home from close range. Best for Aisling were Edward Doyle, Kieran Long, Lorcan Lyons and Jack Cleary.

Coonagh United 0 : Aisling Annacotty 1
25th September 2010
On a clear morning in Coonagh, played in heavy underfoot conditions, Aisling recorded a determined win against the hosts to keep their unbeaten record for this season intact. Coonagh started the more livelier and seemed to be first to every ball, nevertheless the Aisling defense superbly marshalled by David Moloney and Dara Cullimore with James Regan Magnier in goals kept the hosts chances to a minimum. Midway through the first half ,Asling started to gain the upperhand in this keenly fought contest, with Conor Lyons linking up well with the front two of Sam Burns and Conall McAteer . The longer this game went on the more Aisling dicated the pace with strong interplay on the left side between Cathal Carew and Eoin O’Shea creating chances for Conall McAteer and Cian Mulcahy. With strong and tireless running from the midfield duo of Ciaran Barry and Shane Donegan helping to keep Aisling in a strong position for the rest of the first half.
With halftime substitutions of Sean Feeney and Conor Nicholas having an immediate impact creating some good chances and both drawing fine saves from the impressive Coonagh goalkeeper. As the half wore on, Aisling had total dominance in possession but found it hard to break down a solid Coonagh defence. With further introductions of Alex O’Donoghue, Daniel Minehan and Niall O’Brien for a tiring team, Aisling went all out for victory. Their persistence eventually paid off, as in the dying minutes from a free kick won by Sam Burns,up stepped Cathal Carew to unleash an unstoppable free kick which the Coonagh keeper could not handle to give the Aisling team a deserved if somewhat difficult victory over a very determined and skilful Coonagh side.

Corbally United 2 : Aisling Annacotty AFC 3
25th September 2010
Aisling Annacotty came out on top of this Premier League encounter last Saturday morning in Athlunkard. Aisling played some very attractive football in the first half where Sean McBrearty with some great bursts from left back and Niall O Shea in the heart of defence pushed them forward at every opportunity and they were rewarded when a well taken corner from Niall O Shea was tapped in by Evan O Connor to give them a deserved lead. Soon afterwards they added to there lead when a finely struck shot by Conor Fleming from outside the area was well saved by the Corbally keeper but the ball still looped into the net. Aisling had the most of the possession in the opening half but were kept out by some outstanding goalkeeping by the Corbally United keeper, and this kept the score at 2 - 0 to the visitors at half time.
The second half Corbally came more into the game and put pressure on the Aisling defence who held up well initially and broke well and in one of these breaks Evan O Connor put Oisin Kelly through behind the Corbally United defence and he finished calmly passed the Corbally keeper to give the away side a 3 - 0 lead. Both teams made several substitutes and Corbally were rewarded for there effort with five minutes to go when a well taken corner fell to a Corbally player in the box and despite the best effort of Peader Collins he couldnt stop the ball from ending up in the back of the net. Corbally grew confident from this goal and got another one back when a mix up in the Aisling defence put the Corbally forward through to score in the last minute of the match and the match ended soon afterwards closer than any would have thought at half time on a scoreline of Corbally United 2 - Aisling Annacotty 3.

Aisling Annacotty started this game in determined fashion and found themselves 3 goals to the good with only 15 minutes of the game gone. Corbally to their credit fought back and managed a consolation goal late in the game.
Played in Annacotty on Saturday morning Aisling started brightly and after only 3 minutes took the lead when Niall Loughran’s left footed shot found the net following good build up work from Mark O‘Dwyer and Rory Cusack on the left.
Minutes later Loughran got his second of the match and his fifth goal in four games when he coolly finished a Darragh O’Leary cross from the right hand side. At this stage Aisling were totally on top and it wasn’t long before they added a third goal when Darran Golden O’Mahoney found Darragh O’Leary in space and he calmly side footed the ball past the advancing Corbally goalkeeper.

Shannon Town 0 Aisling Annacotty 1
18th September 2010
Aisling Annacotty collected their fourth victory of the season with this hard-fought win over Shannon. Played at St Pats Comp School in perfect conditions, the visitors started really well and had two gilt-edged chances in the first few minutes. They both fell to Kieran Long and the striker hit the target on both occassions but was unlucky to be denied by the legs of the keeper. Brian Donovan had a fine game on the right wing and he set up Tom Morrissey minutes later but Tom was off-balance and the shot flew wide. Shannon gadually settled into the match and Brian Monaghan and Darragh King enjoyed a good battle in midfield with Jack Cleary & Cian O'Brien. Both sides were keen to get the ball down & pass it and this made for an enjoyable spectacle. A feature of the game was the amount of free kicks & corners won by the visitors. Cian O'Brien & Tom Morrissey put some terrific balls in the Shannon box but the vital final touch was not there. Cian hit one wonderful free kick off the bar as the visitors went all out for the lead. The second half continued to be tight & competitive with clear-cut chances falling to both sides. Thomas Holmes was inches over with a great header for Aisling after good work by Daniel Brazil & Shane Doyle. Shannon had a chance to steal all 3 points with about 10 minutes to go but Edward Doyle made himself big and the striker thumped his shot off the crossbar. Moments later Tom Morrissey won it for Aisling with a turn & shot to the bottom corner after great work down the right by Brian Donovan. Best for Aisling were Brian Donovan, Cian O'Brien & Paddy Morrissey.

Aisling Annacotty U11A 2 Corbally 0
13th September 2010
Anyone who doubts the fighting spirit of this Aisling Annacotty u11a team should have been at Annacotty on Monday evening to see them battle against atrocious weather conditions and a very spirited Corbally side to register their 2nd win out of their first 3 outings this year to remain unbeaten in this years campaign. The 1st half saw Aisling playing into fierce wind and rain and although Corbally had probably the better of the early exchanges, it was Aisling who took the lead when a fine cross from Conor Lyons ended up in the back of the Corbally net, with their defence under severe pressure from Sean Feeney and Sam Burns. For the remainder of the half, Aisling put Corbally under a lot of pressure with Sam Burns in particular causing them huge problems with his skilful running at the defence. Aisling's midfield pairing of Shane Donegan and Ciaran Barry fought hard for every ball and Darragh Cullimore and David Moloney mopped up everything that came through aided in no small way by Daniel Minehan and Cathal Carew. As both teams welcomed the half time whistle, it was Aisling who went in 1 - 0 ahead.
Despite playing into a stiff breeze in the 2nd half, it was Corbally who had the better of the first 15 minutes with the Aisling defence under severe pressure at times, but aided by their midfield, the back four held solid and restricted Corbally to some long range efforts which James Regan Magnier dealt with quite easily and slowly Aisling started getting a foothold on the game in the last quarter. Aisling brought on Alex O' Donoghue for Sean Feeney, replaced their tiring captain on the night, Ciaran Barry with Conall McAteer and put the game beyond doubt with a fine finish on the rebound from Sam Burns to make it 2 - 0 when the Corbally keeper failed to hold a fierce shot from Alex O' Donoghue. On the night it was probably scoring the 2nd goal and for his brilliant dribbling, given the conditions, which made Sam Burns man of the match, though in truth the award could have been given to any member of the team, with heroic displays given by the whole team and especially in defence.
Aisling Annacotty: James Regan Magier, Daniel Minehan , David Moloney, Darragh Cullimore, Cathal Carew, Conor Lyons, Shane Donegan, Ciaran Barry (capt), Sean Feeney, Eoin O' Shea, Sam Burns, Alex O' Donoghue, Conor Nicholas, Cian Mulcahy, Conall McAteer.

Under 13 - Division 2
Aisling Annacotty B 0 Corbally United 1
11th September 2010
This was an evenly contested game that Corbally won with a well taken goal five minutes form the end.
The game was played on a wet pitch which made it difficult to move the ball on the ground. Despite the conditions Ian Coates, in particular, and Donal MacNamee in the midfield for Aisling created a number of good chances in the second half which the forwards failed to capitalise on. Corbally had a number of chances also and were thwarted by one excellent save from Andrew Chan in the first half. A Shane Mullins close range effort stuck in the mud in the Corbally goalmouth half way through the half. A scrambled clearance came to Ian Coates outside the box. Ian's blistering shot was then blocked on the line. Shortly afterwards a Davis Madden long range effort went just over. The Corbally centre forward then won the race for a well placed ball of the top and finished well in to the corner of the goal for the winner.
This Aisling team has now lost the opening two league games by one goal in very tight matches. A little more sharpness up front and some luck should see the results improve shortly.

Aisling Annacotty 5 Granville Rangers 1
8th September 2010
An excellent first half display from Aisling Annacotty saw them wrap up the points before the break with a 4 goal cushion. Daniel Brazil opened the scoring with a clinical finish after good approach work from Lorcan Lyons & Paddy Morrissey. The second was the best goal of the evening, smashed to the top corner by Cian O'Brien from the edge of the box after a brilliant break down the right from Brian Donovan and a beautiful cut back to set up the opportunity. Aisling were rampant now and continued to create chances. Granville were playing a very high offside line and it was breached when a fine ball over the top from Tom Morrissey set Andy La Touche-Cosgrave away and he flicked the ball to the bottom corner past the onrushing keepr. Brian Donovan bundled in the fourth from close range after a corner from Cian O'Brien was not cleared by the visitors. Granville were much improved in the second period with the excellent Niall McNamara & Kieran Bennett causing the home side plenty of problems. Both sides had chances but there were no further goals until 10 minutes from time when Thomas Holmes ran onto another fine through ball from Kieran Long, rounded the keeper and tapped in. Moments later, Granville finally got the goal their efforts deserved with an empathic finish to the roof of the net that gave Edward Doyle no chance. Best for Aisling were Brian Donovan, Andy La Touche-Cosgrave and Thomas Holmes.

Caherdavin 1 Aisling Annacotty 8
4th September 2010
A county hurling final robbed both sides of some key players but Aisling Annacotty had the greater strength in depth and ran out comfortable winners. Evan O'Connor & Oisin Kelly were outstanding up front for the visitors and accounted for 6 of the goals between them, Evan weighing in with 4 in a man-of-the-match performance. Jack Cleary and Paddy Morrissey had a tight grip of the game in central midfield and the pace of Daniel Brazil and Tom Morrissey on the wings caused Caherdavin problems all through. The Aisling defence of Shane Doyle in goal and back four of Thomas Holmes, Niall O'Shea, Kieran Long and Sean McBrearty were not seriously tested but all played well in a solid team performance. Thomas Holmes got on the scoresheet from a corner when his sharp turn & shot was only parried to the net by the home keeper. Jack Cleary also got the goal his performance deserved with a mazy run from midfield and a cool finish to the bottom corner. Jack Barry came on for the injured Sean McBrearty and looked a proper player with strength & composure on the ball. Best for Aisling overall were Oisin Kelly, Evan O'Connor & Paddy Morrissey.

Aisling Annacotty 3 - Caherdavin Celtic 0
4th September 2010
Aisling Annacotty got their league campaign off to a flying start in the 12A league with a well deserved 3 – 0 victory over a good Caherdavin eleven. Played in Annacotty in perfect conditions, the final score flattered Aisling somewhat, but never the less Aisling deserved the win having dominated large periods of the game. Aisling took time to settle but eventually created a number of chances before a Daragh O’Leary cross was turned into his own goal by the unfortunate Caherdavin defender.
With Darran Golden, Eoghan Carew, Rory Cusack and Darren Coughlan dominating the midfield exchanges, Aisling continued to dominate the first half but failed to add to their lead despite creating a number of chances.
Caherdavin came out a different team in the second half and put the home team under more pressure and came close to scoring on a number of occasions. The Aisling defence however held firm with great performances from Shane Carmody, David Power, Dara Neville and Daniel Enright, together with a solid display from goalkeeper, Sean Fitzpatrick.
Mid way through the second half Aisling increased their lead when another Daragh O’Leary cross caused confusion in the Caherdavin six yard box and the ball was eventually turned into the net by Darren Coughlan.
With five minutes remaining Aisling made the game safe when Niall Loughran turned in a Dara Neville free kick, despite the best efforts of the Caherdavin goalkeeper, who saved the first effort before Loughran made no mistake from the rebound.

Aisling Annacotty 3 - Corbally United 0
1st September 2010
Aisling Annacotty got their league campaign off to a flying start in the 11C league with a well deserved 3 – 0 victory over a good Corbally eleven. Played in Corbally on a fine end of summer’s evening. Aisling started the brightest and were putting the Corbally defence under pressure from the start.
Impressive performances in the midfield from Sean Coleman, Joe Griffin, Eric O’Neill and Joe Scully. They battled for everything and it wasn’t long before it paid off in the shape of a fine goal from Joe Griffin. This settled the Aisling side into a nice rhythm which produced results as we were 2 goals up just before the half time with another fine strike this time courtesy of Luke Connell.
Corbally came out a different team in the second half and put Aisling under a lot of pressure however the defence was up to the task. There was great team play on display from Patrick Griffin, Darragh McCrann, Craig Leahy and Jeff Hogan.
The game was put beyond Corbally’s reach with a fine strike from Dean Stritch to make it 3-0 who along with James Quinlan were continually putting the Corbally defence on the backfoot. This gave Aishling their first victory in competitive football.

Under 13 Premier League
Aisling Annacotty A 3 - Caherdavin Celtic A 1
30th August 2010
Played last Monday evening in Annacotty in beautiful sunshine, these two teams who won the domestic trophies on offer last year in there age group
served up an entertaining match for there supporters. Aisling had the better of the early exchanges and some lovely inter play between forwards Oisin Kelly and
Evan O Connor, lead to the opening goal for the home side, when a flowing move from midfield ended with Oisin Kelly sloting a perfectly weighted pass for Evan O Connor who calmly shot
to the net, giving the Caherdavin keeper no chance. Caherdavin bounced back when an Aisling attack broke down and a long ball from Caherdavin fell to the Caherdavin striker, who outsprinted the Aisling defence and
blasted the ball past Niall Sheehan in the Aisling goal. Niall O Shea of Aisling Annacotty had a number of shooting chances from free kicks and from general play, but was unlucky not to find the target with his efforts. Both teams produced some very good football after that and the half ended on a scoreline of 1 – 1, which was a fair reflection of the first half.
The second half flowed similarily to the first half with Aisling having the majority of the ball but Caherdavin digging in and counter attacking and both teams having chances themselves.
Aisling and Caherdavin made a number of substitutions and the Aisling substitutions seemed to spur them on and produced the second goal when Evan O Connor set up Oisin Kelly who drove to the net, to give the homeside a valuable lead. Caherdavin had a flowing move which ended with a long effort unluckily crashing off the crossbar. Peader Collins had also a long effort from a free kick also crash off the crossbar for the homeside. Aisling added to there scoreline with very good interplay between Colm Carroll and Shane Hogan, set up Peader Collins who chipped the ball into the Caherdavin area and the ever alert Oisin Kelly headed the ball superbly to the corner of the net for his second goal of the match. Aisling held onto there lead despite a spirited display by Caherdavin with the final scoreline of Aisling Annacotty 3 – Caherdavin 1.
Aisling Annacotty: Niall Sheehan, Mark Carmody, Paddy Humprhies, Jack Barry, Sean McBrearty, Peader Collins, Paul Sutton, Cian Hession, Niall O Shea, Evan O Conoor, Oisin Kelly, Colm Carroll, Shane Hogan.

Under 13 Division 2
Caherdavin Celtic B 2 Aisling Annacotty B 1
30th August 2010
Aisling Annacotty were unlucky not to capitalise on some good football last night in a lively encounter at Greenhills. If they showed a little more composure in front of both goals they would have at least achieved the draw that some excellent build up play deserved.
Aisling had the majority of chances in the first half but turned two down as Caherdavin were more clinical in front of the goals. Caherdavin were stronger for a while after the break but Andrew Chan in goals made one great save and was very assured in coming off his line to stifle a number of other Caherdavin attacks. Aishling then took over in midfield with Donal McNamee and Ben Belazzi dominating in the centre and Jason Daly and Conor Hanrahan causing serious problems down the wings. Shane Mullins pulled one back half way through the half when he slotted from ten yards or so following some frantic defending and clearing off the line. Aishling manufactured two or three more good chances before the end but all resulted in very narrow misses.
While there is some clear room for improvement, it was an encouraging start to the season against last years Division 3 runaway winners.

Under 14 Premier League:
Corbally 2 Aisling Annacotty 1
28th August, 2010.
A magnificient battling performance from an understrength Aisling Annacotty fell just short as they lost 2-1 to Corbally in this u14 Premier League clash played in brilliant sunshine at Athlunkard last saturday morning. Aisling could only field 10 players and, in fairness, the home side were missing several key men also as the early start to the season continued to play havoc with the availability of players. Joel Coustrain opened the scoring running on to a flick on and placing the ball perfectly inside Shane Doyle's far post. Aisling responded well and good work down the right by Darragh Crehan & Brian Donovan worked an opening for Cian Hession whose crisp left foot shot from the edge of the box found the bottom corner. Aisling had a great chance to take the lead when a corner from Daniel Brazil caused chaos in the home defence and Thomas Holmes looked sure to score but a bobble at just the wrong moment saw the ball fly over the bar. Corbally's winner in the second half had a touch of controversy about it, Aisling Annacotty players were convinced they had won a corner but the referee signalled goal kick which Corbally took long down the middle, the ball bounced once and the excellent Joel Coustrain lifted it over Shane Doyle. The ten men kept their heads up and a superb curling effort from Evan O'Connor almost had them level but crashed against the crossbar. Best for Aisling on the day were Thomas Holmes, Peadar Collins & Brian Donovan.
Aisling Annacotty: Shane Doyle, Darragh Crehan, Kieran Long, Thomas Holmes, Sean McBrearty, Evan O'Connor, Peadar Collins, Cian Hession, Brian Donovan, Daniel Brazil.

Under 14 Premier League:
Aisling Annacotty 2 Ballynanty Rovers 0
16th August, 2010.
Aisling Annacotty kicked off the new season with a deserved victory over Ballynanty Rovers last Monday night. Both sides were missing key players from last season but those on view produced a lively competitive encounter with plenty of good football on show. The visitors threatened early with Neil Wallace's whipped cross causing a scramble in the home defence before Edward Doyle gathered the ball safely. Aisling settled quickly and Cian O'Brien fired a free kick across the box after Lorcan Lyons was brought down but the ball just evaded everybody. Daniel Brazil, Kieran Long & Andy La Touche-Cosgrove looked very sharp up front all night and got plety of good supply from Thomas Holmes and Cian O'Brien in midfield. One great through ball from Cian O'Brien led to the opening goal when Andy was brought down by the Ballynanty keeper and Jack Cleary dispatched the penalty cooly. Aisling's back three of Paddy & Tom Morrissey and Shane Doyle were excellent all night and the visitors were restricted to long range efforts that were comfortably dealt with by Edward Doyle. Early in the second half the home side continued to move the ball well with Brian Donovan & Evan Enright causing plenty of problems out wide and another flowing move ended in a free kick for Thomas Holmes from just outside the box. He struck it well but the Balla keeper had his angles right and smothered the shot. Aisling won their second penalty of the night when Daniel Brazil and Brian Donovan combined well inside the box drawing a rash challenge from the Balla defender. Jack Cleary stepped up and found the bottom corner again to give the home side some breathing space. The visitors responded well and threw everything at Aisling for the last few minutes but they could not find a way through. Best for Aisling in a really good team effort were Andy La Touche-Cosgrove, Jack Cleary & Paddy Morrissey.
Aisling Annacotty: Edward Doyle, Shane Doyle, Tom Morrissey, Paddy Morrissey, Jack Cleary, Cian O'Brien, Lorcan Lyons, Thomas Holmes, Andy La Touche-Cosgrove, Kieran Long, Brian Donovan, Daniel Brazil, Evan Enright.
