Aisling Annacotty 1 Corbally 0
Two well matched sides met last Saturday in Killonan. Aisling had a few early chances but Corbally defended bravely and we found it hard to break through. Josh Taffe Moloney and Cian Duffy playing up front had a few chances but the Corbally goal keeper and the wrong side of the post denined them on numerous occassions. Captain Conor Delaney, Matthew Murdock and Arron Kennedy marshalled the mid field, kept Corbally in their own half for long periods in the first half. A great save before half time from Josh Ryan kept the score line nil all at the break. Roisin O'Mara, Iain Campbell, Peter O'Flynn and Barry Cusack in defence worked well together. Barry Cusack made some great tackles to keep the Corbally side out, he gave the man of the match performance.
The second half saw the inclusion of all our subs. Gavan Ryan and Sean Mulkearn took on the roll of strikers. Gavan was unlucky to see his effort early in the second half go over the cross bar. Aisling fought hard and were rewarded with a goal when Matthew Murdock broke from his own half and ran the pitch to slot home a well taken goal. Soon afterwards, Gavan Ryan stole the ball on half way, Corbally couldnt catch him but unfortunately, the Corbally goal keeper saved his strike.
Aisling ran out winners 1 - 0, but all credit to Corbally who fought all the way.
