Both our teams clashed in Pablo Park last Sunday morning in the first game of the league season and served up a great local derby. In truth the B team can feel hard done by after drawing level with fifteen minutes to go but it was the A team who came away with the points after a bullet of a header from Colm Hogan deceived goalkeeper Liam Keogh with five minutes remaining to hop over him and into the net.

After the hard fought win over the B team on Wednesday the A's hosted Cappoquin in Pablo Park on Sunday morning missing six players who played the previous Wednesday due to holidays, weddings and stags so the squad was down to twelve players but despite this turned in a very solid ninety minutes.

The second annual five a side started last Thursday night in Pablo Park with five local teams competing against each other for the title which Coonans Quikpick won last year beating the Ole Mill in the final. The teams on the night were Quikpick, The Ole Mill Bar, The Old Still Bar, Whiting Bay Sheds and The Really Old Trafford. Last Thursday night in the pouring rain saw the second round of games in our inter firm tournament with defending champions Quik Pick topping the table and Old Still, Ole Mill and Whiting Bay taking 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. The remaining team the Really Old Trafford got the wooden spoon after a good performance throughout the two nights.
