PLAYERS DISCIPLINE GUIDELINES 2010
Disciplinary sanctions shall be imposed for offences as reported in referees report
SENT OFF; Striking or spitting at referee or assistant referee (includes; deliberately pushing, pulling,
spitting, striking, butting, elbowing, punching, kicking, etc. Touching is not an assault)
– immediate suspension of player involved
Minimum; One year suspension plus committees decision on past record
SENT OFF; Threatening referee or assistant referee – immediate suspension of player involved.
Minimum; Six match suspension plus committees decision on past record
SENT OFF; Spitting at opponent or person other than match official, involvement in brawl/fight
Minimum; Six match suspension plus committees decision on past record
SENT OFF; Fighting, kicking, stamping, headbutting, unsporting conduct towards match official
Minimum; Four match suspension plus committees decision on past record
SENT OFF; Dangerous, late, high tackle, tripping, kicking wildly or persistent foul and
abusive language, persistent bad conduct.
Minimum; Two match suspension plus committees decision on past record.
SENT OFF; Persistent handling, dissention to referee or assistant referees, bringing the game into disrepute.
Minimum; One match suspension plus committees decision on past record.
Persons found guilty of forgery or falsification of documents shall carry a 6 match suspension. If the person is an official a 12 month suspension shall apply.
The MAFL reserve the right to punish any infringement that has escaped the match official. LMC members must submit a report on the incident the League/Disciplinary Secretary.
Players or officials sent off will serve a one match automatic suspension in the next round of that competition, if no longer in that competition it is served in the next competitive game, if there is any additional suspensions the club will be notified by the disciplinary secretary following their next disciplinary meeting meeting.
Players sent off a second time will receive one extra match suspension. Players sent off a third time will receive a minimum two match extra suspension and will be dealt with severely by the Disciplinary Committee. All sendings off and suspensions will carry a €50 fine. Players or officials cautioned or sent off foul and abusive language will carry an extra €50 fine

* Player sent off, straight red card – Minimum one match automatic suspension (see above)
* A player who receives four cautions will receive a one match suspension plus a €50 fine
* If the same player receives two more cautions – a one match suspension plus a €50 fine
* If the same player receives two more cautions – a two match suspension plus a €50 fine
All suspensions take effect from the date on the Disciplinary Report Form.
All suspensions must be served at level which player is sent off ie. 'A' player receiving two matches cannot play until two 'A' matches are played, the same applies with 'B' and 'C'
Suspensions are carried into the next season points do not.
Fines will be reviewed annually
Players or officials have the right to appeal the decision of the Disciplinary Committee to the Connacht FA or the Football Association of Ireland as per rule 25
